Yatsugatake Seiroku Wine Valley

One of the newest production areas in Nagano Prefecture, located on a plateau between the Yatsugatake Mountains and the Southern Alps at an altitude of 800 to 1,000 meters above sea level. It is also famous for its production of highland vegetables such as celeries and flowers, and has a large area of villas in the higher elevations on the Yatsugatake side of the plateau. Wine grape vineyards are mainly located in the fan-shaped area extending from the Yatsugatake Mountains. Owing to the cool climate in this area, producers are increasing the areas of European Varieties of wine grapes.
